I met the editor of Spring-Ford Press, John McGuire, which was great since I am passionate about local news. We met at local coffee shop Brewed Awakening. I like to call them the OG Royersford Coffee Shop. (OG means Original Gangster.)
I was listening to a talk on NPR from about 20 years ago with Dr. Temple Grandin. People had asked why she couldn’t work on the conditions of pigs since she has such much insight into animal behavior she is an animal behavior expert who has worked on improving the conditions of animals, especially cows. She’s made significant contributions, but specializes in educating people about autism. She said, “And basically, to be effective on making real change out there on the ground, you can only work on so many things.”
I am going to try to consolidate my township news to one day a week, which seems unhelpful, or relocate it. It can’t be my one thing. I want to share more about marketing and Liv, but the local community has so much happening that people don’t seem to know.
Side note that simply saying No Data Centers is not an answer for municipalities in Pennsylvania, apparently even tiny ones. So strong ordinances with conditional use hearings are one approach. Reach out to your local leaders if you have issues or questions. Don’t just read headlines and comment on Facebook (or write on substack). I have been in touch with our Mayor and am going to write the council some thoughts. If anyone wants a template letter, I can help you. I am not a land use expert. Yet.
In Liv news, we visited the firehouse last week for a special meetup with a couple friends. Last week walking around town, we met an organization who wants us to visit them as a pet therapy team. She visited Ace Hardware, the Wine and Spirits store yesterday and spent some quality time digging. I am going to work on finishing one of her books next now that I just finished a project which I will announce another time.
We have been eating golden paste, which is filtered water, turmeric powder, coconut oil, and fresh ground pepper.
Lately I have been getting back into this song by Radiohead.
Throwback photo to Liv at Brewed Awakening when dogs were (more) allowed.
