Meet Kabir Kadre, a gifted writer, coach, and teacher who has lived as a quadriplegic for 17 years due to a car accident. He needs and deserves our support.
I have known Kabir since around 2007. When I first heard of this person who was a quadriplegic, he was not at all what I imagined.
For example, read these words from Kabir:
"Shelter in place is a word that we know today. Anyone with paralysis knows that feeling intimately. It is not an end or a sentence. It is an opportunity to discover what we have to give in terms of wisdom and intelligence...to care.
I have been working on how to translate the lessons of care to the wider world..."
You see, his body depends on processes and people to keep going. In fact, he supports about 5 caregivers as well as other professionals just to sustain his day to day existence. His mind and heart are capable of care beyond what most of us do in a lifetime. He has a heart centered on the world and the needs of anyone and everyone.
Kabir can make insightful, inspiring, and practical contributions with his presence and creativity if he can raise enough money to stay in his house and continue his work.
Right now Kabir needs about $250,000 to live and work for a year. Again, this amount serves to benefit many others, rippling out from his care team and other providers. This total would allow him to work toward some offerings which will share his wisdom of humanity and caregiving. Any amount helps toward this goal.
If you want to contribute to someone who genuinely supports and furthers humanity, please donate here:

If you are inspired, please help now. I have done what I can financially and am working to spread the word. Share this post if you feel drawn to help.
Kabir has gifts to offer in the world, including a model of caregiving based on his experience and a book, both in development. He is also a writer and coach.
All of this will be difficult or impossible to accomplish if he has to move to a hospital to live, which is the next step once funds are exhausted for paying rent and bills.
He used the full settlement from the accident because it was only designed to support someone for a limited number of years. Kabir has outlived this point.
He has been and continues to be an inspiration and support to me and many others.
Whether you may have an extra $25 or the ability to give $25,000, please help Kabir give back to the world!
The need is global and local and only growing for what Kabir offers in the world -- compassion, insight, and inclusion.
